The Administration Index, eBay Tab
This tour is following the flow of the Video Demo's which is a more complete account. If you are not visually impaired or hearing impaired then viewing the videos would be a better way to continue the tour. Video demos.
Below is the screenshot of the Admin Index page showing the eBay tab, for your reference, before it is discussed below.
The "eBay" tab contains the pages required to get working with ebay. It contains some pages which will only be used before going live, some which may change occasionally and others which will be used quite frequently. It does not include the pages required to add a listing to eBay, as this task is accomplished from the product overview page.
I will reproduce the options shown on the actual tab, in this case, not with any extra details as all is quite self-explanatory.
- Ebay category selection - Because Ebay has an enormous amount of categories in which listings can be placed, and a seller will usually only use a few, this is the administration page to select which categories will be available when you add a listing on to eBay. Check this regularly as categories do change.
- Ebay Home Region Selection - This is so that users have an idea where you are based. It should only need to be done once. If eBay ever add more regions you will get a ticket in the SystemAdmin queue.
- Shipping service selection - This is where you set which shipping services will appear on every listing.
- Shipping location selection - This is where you set where you will deliver your goods to, and will be used to fill out that information on your listings.
- Update store categories - If you change the store categories on eBay, using the eBay interface, then the system needs to be told that there has been a change. Going to this page will update our records to match any changes from eBay. This is done automatically every day, so any changes will eventually be picked up. The chances are though, that you would like to do this immediately.
- Orphan listings - When the site goes live all the current listings will be downloaded from eBay, and need to be associated to products on the system. This page allows that association.
- Ebay Image-less products - If products details are added separately to their images it is possible that products are added without any images being added for eBay listings. This page shows those products which have no such images. This is meant for eBay listings only, as website images are dealt with separately.
